Please check the Annual Conference web site at www.alaannual.org for updates Sunday, June 26th, 8 AM - 9:15 AM a Presentation by Daniel Ellsberg, the man the Nixon administration dubbed “The Most Dangerous Man in America.” Ellsberg is a former United States military analyst who, while employed by the RAND Corporation, precipitated a national political controversy in 1971 when he released the Pentagon Papers, a top-secret Pentagon study of US government decisionmaking about the Vietnam War, to The New York Times and other newspapers. This is the fortieth anniversary of Ellsberg’s going into hiding to avoid arrest by the FBI while disseminating the Pentagon Papers to the major news media. Ellsberg also spent three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as rifle platoon leader, operations officer, and rifle company commander.
