MAGERT There’s a Map for That: Maps and Tools you didn’t know about! Have you ever felt stumped by a patron asking for a map? With the proper tools, this no longer requires you to be a geographic whiz kid. Designed for EVERY librarian, this 2-hour program will take you from searching digitized maps, to using interactive maps, and finally to creating your own maps online. Whether on the reference desk or for your personal mapping needs, there is a place for maps in every librarians’ toolbox. Our panel of speakers will help you with the next steps, as they discuss their involvement in professional organizations, tips and techniques on how to be an effective volunteer, and why service work is valuable to both you and librarianship at large!
