The session is a beginner’s guide to using Amazon web services. It is intended to provide a step-by-step, hands-on session using Amazon cloud computing services, primarily using EC2. Learners will be able to launch /stop/ terminate a Linux/Windows instance, create / attach / detach new storage, make / launch instance images, securely copy/delete files, and install / remove a library application such as DSpace on the instance. Subjects: Technology ASCLA Writing a Way out: the success of Writing Programs in correctional settings Writing programs in correctional settings have produced dramatic results for those who experience them. This program will include successful inmate writers, program instructors and correctional librarians who manage or assist in the programs. Subjects: Public Programs, Special Needs Populations LITA “i can do it all by myself”: exploring new roles for libraries and mediating technologies in addressing the Do-it-yourself mindset of library patrons Users are increasingly self-reliant in their information seeking behavior.
