Join forces with community leaders in health care, treatment, education, and law enforcement-along
with community coalition groups-to help individuals become aware of the dangers of heroin and
prescription painkiller misuse, as well as highlight the hope of recovery from addiction.
Beyond the Waiver: Training for Medical Professionals
Physicians, nurses, and other practitioners have important roles to play in combating opioid abuse, which
may feel new and uncomfortable. This training will help participants understand the risks and known
benefits of treating pain with opioids, as well as identify patients at risk for addiction and when to refer
opioid-dependent persons to appropriate levels of care.

COR-12 Action Planning for Success
This session for agency leadership provides the dedicated time and space for planning to develop new
services or expand current programs as they relate to the treatment of opioid use disorders. Leaders will
address opportunities and challenges related to implementing a recovery-oriented Medication-Assisted
Treatment (MAT) program.
COR-12 Implementation Training for Staff
This training provides clinicians with the knowledge, skills, and tools to more successfully provide
services for persons with opioid use disorders in a person-centered, recovery-oriented system of care.
