But more than simply listing an impressive group of people in our magazine every issue, we wanted to tap their expertise in an attempt to continue to improve HD and our events. Between a survey and a wonderful lunch at Locanda Verde in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood, we've gained a lot of valuable insight and feedback so far. Obviously we can't include it all, but you will start to see a few tweaks in this and future issues. Interestingly enough, one of the biggest takeaways: the magazine should be a source of inspiration, not just through hospitality projects and people, but also through trailblazing examples and leaders in other industries. Luckily, our December issue was already dedicated to this very topic. We've dubbed it Edge of Creativity, as we explore groundbreaking, thought-provoking, interesting projects, people, and trends-from retail and tech inventions to neon eye-catching architecture and illuminating exhibitions. We could have filled 100 pages, but hopefully the more than 20 innovations showcased will whet the appetite. Plus, holding true to our title, we highlight a few hospitality projects-a restaurant in Spain, hotels in Cabo and Sydney, a lesson in sustainability in Portugal, and a lodge concept bridging the gap between hotel and Airbnb-that are standouts in their own right, pushing the envelope in terms of design and concept. Hopefully our last issue of 2015 leaves you with some stimuli for the new year. And as you are planning for 2016, take note that registration is now open for HD Expo, May 4-6th, at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. It's our 25th anniversary so even more so than years before we hope to excite and inform with more than 25 conference sessions-speakers will be added in the coming weeks at and a few new initiatives on the show floor. One thing I am most looking forward to is what Andrew Alford and his team at AJ Capital Partners create in the Social Hub. If it's anything like the whimsical, pattern-filled lobbies at his recently opened Graduate Hotels, I am sure it will delight and surprise. And submissions for our annual HD Awards-both projects and products-are now being accepted and are due by March 1st at The good news for those who have entered in years past: the entire process is now digital. From all of us at HD, have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
