The Snøhetta-designed cabin immerses guests in the pine tree forest canopy of Lapland with breathtaking views of the Lule River. A north-facing floor-to-ceiling window on the aptly named Northern Light lounge gives guests the best chance to see the Aurora Borealis on a clear day. And for those adventurous few, a large glass door leads from the lounge area onto the netted terrace where a sleeping bag can create a hammock-style rest beneath the starry night sky. Built as a traditional Nordic cabin, the wooden façade is clad with pine boards burnt to create a dark and maintenance-free exterior, which juxtaposes the airy inside outfitted with ash wood flooring, birch plywood walls, and lighttoned furniture. hospitalitydesign.com March/April 2017 051http://www.hospitalitydesign.com
