FOR THE 7TH annual Healthcare Design Remodel/Renovation Competition,
our jury of industry professionals-assembled by The Center for Health
Design-considered dozens of entries that breathed new life into two
unique areas: staff spaces and pediatric spaces. Their scores determined
the top three projects in each category, from which the jury collectively
chose Best in Category winners. We then opened up the voting online for a
Readers' Choice award in each category.
Building users were at the forefront of the design solutions presented,
with their specific needs addressed in well-thought-out features that
delivered in myriad ways, including streamlined wayfinding and workflow,
support for collaborative care, and improved patient and staff satisfaction.
On the following pages, you'll find out who came out on top, hear from
our six finalists in their own words, and see before-and-after photos of
the transformations. Special thanks to National Office Furniture for
sponsoring this year's competition, and congratulations to the winners.
