Va. Designed by
Perkins+Will, the
Valley Health Cancer
Center at Winchester

glass-and-wood
entry, a green plant
wall, an integrative
care suite, a 70seat conference
room, and a new
glass skywalk that
connects it to the
existing diagnostic
center.
OVIEDO MEDICAL
CENTER in

Oviedo, Fla., is
now complete.
The $109 million
project includes a
64-bed hospital,

22-bed emergency
department, and an
adjacent medical
office building. The
facility, designed by
Nashville, Tenn.based Gould Turner
Group, houses a
range of services,
including medical
and surgical inpatient
units, intensive
care, medical
cardiology, telemetry,
and cardiac
catheterization, and
is expected to serve
more than 35,000
patients in its first
year.

and HOSPITAL FOR

entire orthopedic service
line. Surgeons from HSS
in New York City will be
providing care through
HSS Orthopedics at
Stamford Hospital, which
will be available on a
dedicated fifth floor of the
new Stamford Hospital
building late this year.

collaborating to create

orthopedic care serving

England. Under the
agreement, Stamford

HOSPITAL in Virginia
Beach, Va., will
begin a $49 million
modernization of
infrastructure and patient
care areas. The project

will consolidate three
intensive care units into a
24-bed ICU, replace six
operating rooms with a
new surgery wing, and
renovate four other ORs.
Sterile support areas
will be expanded and
upgraded and two new
elevators will connect
the OR suite with the
consolidated ICU located
a floor above. The project
is expected to take
about 30 months. Kahler
Slater (Milwaukee) is the
architect on the project
and Whiting-Turner
(Baltimore) is the general
contractor.
