Allow saliva to contact varnish in order to solidify the varnish into a white layer. Profound anesthesia is achieved in about 2 minutes. Anesthesia lasts 20-30 minutes. Remove residual material with wet cotton gauze or allow saliva to dissolve the residual. • Dosage Form & Strength: Viscous gel containing benzocaine, 20%. • Contraindications: Not for use on patients with known sensitivity or allergies to benzocaine or other similar "caine" substances.
