While most towns and cities are built around natural resources or travel paths, Hershey was built by an entrepreneur who wanted to keep his employees happy. Milton S. Hershey believed that happy employees supported by a vibrant community would make a good company great. On that basis, he founded the town of Hershey. Today, Hershey is a prospering city with an inviting variety of educational and entertainment options for visitors to explore. From the Hershey’s Kiss-styled streetlights to the subtle smell of chocolate that permeates downtown, the saying holds true: Hershey is The Sweetest Place On Earth®. Hersheypark Part amusement park, part day at the beach, Hersheypark combines the best of both worlds – all for the cost of one admission ticket. Boardwalk: The SEAquel, will offer guests two new water attractions: The Shore and Intercoastal Waterway. The Shore is a 378,000-gallon wave pool that will accommodate 685 guests at capacity. Intercoastal Waterway is a relaxing “lazy river”style ride that invites guests to float leisurely along at a pace inspired by the calm waters of the East Coast. The park will also be adding 27 exclusive cabanas (for guests of Hershey Resorts), a restaurant, two food kiosks, two retail outlets, lounging areas and a full locker room with showers, restrooms and a changing area. Hersheypark is a seasonal attraction, with primary access in the spring, summer and fall months, but special winter and off-season hours and events are available. the hershey story Also known as “The Museum on Chocolate Avenue,” The Hershey Story opened in January 2009. The new museum, a complete redesign of the former Hershey Museum, focuses on the man behind the town. Interactive exhibits explore Milton S. Hershey’s life, his legacy and the legendary chocolate company that bears his name. Visitors can participate in hands-on experiments held in the Chocolate Lab, inspired by Milton S. Hershey’s own apprenticeship, and taste chocolate flavors from around the world at Café Zooka. The Hershey Story is open seven days a week throughout the year, with some holiday exceptions. the hotel hershey The Hotel Hershey is an elegant getaway located high atop a hill in the town of Hershey. The hotel has earned the AAA Four-Diamond Award for 27 consecutive years and the Mobile Four-Star Distinction for 16.
