This study of uniforms is made complete
by innumerable chans including detailed information on such items as cuffs, collars,

glossary is appended listing foreign retentions

Although the book is textually complete
in terms of descriptive detail, its major
drawback is the accompanying illustrations,
The drawings are all blaek and while; the
groupings are far too crowded to be represemative in terms of time-span; and the
drawings are tOO small (2,5" high) 10 render
del ail on the uniforms comprehensively,
onelheless, the book does substantiate
the enormous contribution of uniforms to
mens' wear in panicular and to cultural hislory in general, as well as pointing to the ob\'ious \"alue of the study of uniforms as a pan
