Exceeding expectations Although the methods suggested here are geared toward the color-deficient student, I have seen the benefits of some of the same techniques for other students. As each student will need a different level of help, the student and instructor must work together on the methods right for them. One student may need assistance in labeling the color media, whereas another will need a lengthy dialogue regarding color ideas, labeling, and color mixing. Using these techniques will help students gain confidence in their ability to use color. They will become less frustrated with the design process if selecting colors is not a stumbling block.
