49 each student and we provide a quality education for the student, which continues to shape each individual long after they have graduated from HACC. Can you share a particularly proud teaching moment? I have been fortunate to work with and educate some of the finest cardiovascular professionals. I believe my proudest moment was being selected for an Excellence in Teaching and Leadership award this past year. I am touched by the support and encouragement I received from my students and colleagues. Can some of your students share why they chose to become a CVT? “Near the end of my high school career, my father had a heart attack and underwent a PCI. I was very interested in his procedure and the development of his cardiovascular disease. With my combined interest in cardiovascular science and my desire to further my education, I discovered the invasive cardiovascular sciences program at Harrisburg Area Community College. The program has been wonderful in both its structure and curriculum. I am very grateful for all the knowledge and experience that I have gained.” — Jaclyn Leeper “I chose the CVT path because I have always had a passion for helping and caring for people whether they are healthy or sick. My sister had cancer at a young age and I remember her going to Baltimore for her treatments. Everyone that worked in the hospital had such a warmth about their personality or smile. When I finally got to the cath lab and started having hands-on with the patients, I knew this is what I was meant to do at this point in my life.” — Jennifer Perez “I chose CVT because I am fascinated with the heart and I love working as part of a team.
