To prepare for this upcoming event, we’ve put together a special issue. Highlights include: This month we take a special inside look at new research and technology on the horizon. We feature an interview with Andrea Russo, MD, about her research into the under-referral of women for AF ablation. We also speak with Dr. Charles Berul about his recent study on the effect of digital music players such as iPods on implanted devices. In addition, we have several case studies, including those on alcohol septal ablation and on suspected shunting of defibrillation energy. In this issue, we also take a moment to learn more about EP’s most precious resource: you! Arnold Fish, RRT, describes for us his first year working in the EP lab. We learn about the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society and the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). We are also debuting a new monthly section entitled “All About My Job,” in which we profile one job position — in this case, a technician supervisor — in the EP lab. As always, if you would be interested in submitting an article to EP Lab Digest, please contact me at “jelrod@hmpcommunications.com”. We are always looking for new writers, so if you would like to contribute, we would love to hear from you! Thanks for reading!
