At the event Santa and his elves distributed more than 200 gifts to the children as grateful parents and staff looked on. The highlight of the day was to learn that some of the families had found homes for Christmas. Participants included Brandpoint Marketing Solutions, Comfort Inn & Suites Airport & Cruiseport, Hampton Inn-Plantation, Hyatt Place Plantation, Florida International University, Jungle Island, Rent-A-PC/All Services, MarkScot Marketing Solutions, Media 17, and Sharp Marketing.This is the second event of the South Florida Chapter of HSMAI held in conjunction with the Broward Outreach Center. Last September, a group of children were taken for a day trip to visit Jungle Island in Miami. Susan Stern, Hampton Inn-Plantation, serves as the chapter’s Community Relations Director and coordinated both events. She said, “Just to see the children’s smiling faces is such a heartwarming reward for our small efforts.” Cleveland Rocks! The HSMAI Americas Region reached the 40 mark in number of chapters recently with the chartering of the Cleveland chapter on May 29, 2008. More than 70 local hospitality members and prospects attended the chartering event which was held at the House of Blues. New chapter board members, left to right, on hand were: Brandon Hiller, Trisha Curiale, Ann Luketic, Rick Turner, Laura Mulholland, Tom Farinacci, Eileen Linz, Kristen Adams.
