Introduced in 1920, plump rainbow trout flourish in the cold, fresh water streams of upland Kaua‘i. The trout season is short, encompassing only about half of June and July. On the other hand, deep-sea fishing is available all year long. Windsurfing is another popular Kaua‘i water activity, though generally fresh breezes and offshore reefs are best handled by the more experienced.
