Kauai 2009 Travel Planner - (Page 47) GETTING MARRIED ON KAUA‘I? Congratulations! It’s the perfect place to say “I do.” To marry in the Islands of Aloha, you must obtain a Hawai‘i marriage license. No blood tests are required, and no paperwork needs to be completed prior to your license appointment. Both the bride and groom must apply in person and be at least 18 years old to obtain a license without parental consent . There’s no waiting period, but you should get the license before the wedding day. The fee is $60 ($65 if an agent is used), cash only, and the license is good for 30 days. Licenses are available statewide, by appointment only. Call the Kaua‘i Governor Liaison’s office, 274–3100, Monday-Friday, 7:45 a .m .– 4:30 p .m . (closed noon–1 p .m .) or visit www.hawaii.gov/ health/vital-records/vital-records/marriage/index.html for more information . ELENA YAKUSHEVA maile, pikake and ginger leading the way.
