IANA Names New 2016 Officers Effective January 1, the Intermodal Association of North America welcomed two members to its board of directors and installed its officers for the 2016 membership year. The board consists of 13 individuals representing the five divisions of IANA. Katie Farmer, group vice president, consumer products of BNSF Railway, was re-elected association chairman. Farmer has over 20 years of experience in the railroad industry. She is responsible for the commercial activities of BNSF's intermodal and automotive business, having served as vice president, domestic intermodal. "We look forward to working under Katie's leadership again this year," said Joni Casey, president and CEO of IANA. "Her industry experience and insight position the association to engage in major issues facing the intermodal community." IANA Welcomes New General Counsel Marc S. Blubaugh took over the duties of IANA general counsel upon John Bagileo's retirement at the end of 2015. Bagileo served in this role for the last sixteen years and was instrumental in the growth of the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Blubaugh Agreement. Blubaugh is a partner with the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, and serves as co-chair of the firm's Transportation & Logistics Practice Group. He is also the immediate past president of the Transportation Lawyers Association and is involved in a number of other transportation and logistics-related organizations, including the Transportation Intermediaries Association and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Farmer Bailey Adriene B. Bailey, chief strategy officer at Yusen Logistics (Americas), Inc., retained her title as vice chairman of the association. Bailey's positions prior to joining Yusen Logistics in 2011 included chief commercial officer of Pacer International and president of Pacer Stacktrain. She also currently serves as chairman of the board of the Transportation Institute at the University of Denver. Dave Manning, president of Nashville-based TCW, Inc., was elected as the Manning association's Treasurer for 2016. Since his start at TCW in 1985, Manning was instrumental in leading the growth of the company from a single terminal to a diversified transportation enterprise with more than 600 employees and revenue in excess of $80 million. He is currently serving as a second vice chairman of the American Trucking Associations and is the chairman of the North American Chassis Pool Cooperative. Broome and George Join IANA Board Mark H. George and Derrick Broome have joined the IANA board as its newest directors. Elected at the end of last year, they begin three year terms representing the motor carrier and 3PL divisions respectively. George has focused his career entirely on international shipments beginning with Intermodal George Cartage, which he started in 1982 with one truck and one driver. In 2009, he founded IMC Companies and currently serves as chairman of the group. IMC Companies has become one of the largest intermodal carriers in the country with over 1,500 employees. Broome , vice president, intermodal at C.A.T. Global, Inc., is a 20 year veteran of the intermodal industry. His career began in the mid 1990's at Rail Van Multimodal, and a number of acquisitions carried him to Pacer International, Pacer Stacktrain and XPO Logistics. He served in various capacities at the Broome director and vice president levels during that period. Re-elected to represent the rail and marine divisions are Katie Farmer, group vice president, consumer products at BNSF, and Mike Wilson, senior vice president at Hamburg Sud North America.
