The Google forum matches drivers looking to return a container or chassis with those looking to pick one up. An automatic email is generated to forum subscribers when equipment availability is posted, and the transaction is then handled directly between drivers. According to Bi-State Motor Carriers, its members are not charged for using the forum; it is included in their membership fees. At the Port of Oakland, Jupigo, a newly launched mobile app developed by one of the port's licensed carriers, similarly facilitates street turns for available equipment. The app is one in a series introduced at the port this year. Two other applications calculate truck turn times for containerized cargo handling. People in the News The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans announced that President and CEO Gary LaGrange will retire at the end of his current contract in April 2017. Dunlap Debbie Cohen has joined DCLI as a vice president of sales, steamship lines, reporting to CMO Jeremy Haycock. LaGrange The Federal Highway Administration has appointed Walter Waidelich as its executive director to manage daily operations. Johanson Transportation Service has made several changes in its perishable food division, including the following: Shawn Dhillon was promoted to carrier procurement lead, and Matt Holt was appointed customer service lead. Both earned certified transportation broker designations from the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Werner Enterprises has promoted Derek Leathers to president and chief executive officer, replacing company founder Clarence Werner, who will remain executive chairman. H. Marty Nordlund, previously senior executive vice president of specialized services, was promoted to senior executive vice president and chief operating officer. Kansas City Southern announced that effective July 1, 2016, Patrick J. Ottensmeyer will succeed David L. Starling as the company's chief executive officer. Mr. Ottensmeyer will also keep the title of president. Part of KCS' comprehensive executive succession plan, Starling will continue to serve as senior advisor to the chief executive officer.
