Oakland Port Approves
Renewable Power Purchase
The Port of Oakland approved purchases of renewable energy from East
Bay Municipal Utilities District's biogas
facility to serve electric customers at
its airport and seaport. The five-year
agreement is a renewal of an existing
power purchase agreement.
The Port entered into a five-year
contract in 2012. Port and EBMUD staff
proposed several modifications to
the agreement that will continue the
partnership, including a price reduction
of approximately 20 percent.
Trillium Signs
CNG Contract in PA
Trillium CNG has finalized an agree-
ment to bring 29 new compressed
natural gas fuel stations to Pennsylvania.
Trillium was selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for a
contract to design, build and maintain
the CNG facilities.
Seven of the 29 facilities will be
open to the public. Trillium will have
an option to add sites in the future.
The agreement includes CNGrelated updates to existing transit
maintenance and storage facilities.
The first three facilities are
expected to open early in 2017.
Sustainable Growth
Targeted by LA Committee
Mayor Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles
announced a 10-member advisory
committee to help the Port of Los
Angeles reduce carbon emissions and
produce a guide for sustainable growth.
He said the committee will help
advance his Sustainable City Plan,
which set a goal of increasing the
percentage of goods-moving trips
using zero-emissions technologies to at
least 15 percent by 2025.

Southeast Ports See
First Post-Panamax Ships
The South Carolina Ports Authority
welcomed K-Line's Hannover Bridge,
the first post-Panamax size vessel to
call at Charleston after transiting the
newly expanded Panama Canal.
The 8,500 TEU-class arrival is part of
the CKYHE Alliance's weekly All Water
East Coast Loop 3 Service that connects the Southeast with China, Hong
Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
MOL's Benefactor was the first
vessel to call at the Port of Savannah
after passing through the expanded
Panama Canal's new locks.
The 10,100 TEU ship is also the
largest ever to call on the port. It was
scheduled to move over 3,000 containers at the port's Garden City terminal.
