The Ontario Broker - February 2018 - 27

Director Rick Dresher is an early
adopter of technology. "I've always
been a computer geek, from very
early on. I started with the Apple
II. And I've always been involved
trying to push technology for
brokers forward." Rick is a member
of the BMS User Group, and is on
the Boards of Keal System Users
and ORBiT Canada. "I want to
assist the association move forward
on technological solutions that will
help brokers better compete."
Prior to becoming a broker,
Territory 8 Director Adam
Veldpaus' background was as an
electrical engineer. This developed
a philosophy on technology that
informs his ambitions for the
Board. "The rise of technology
will continue to pave the future,
but we can differentiate ourselves by providing
valid, relatable experiences as human beings. I've
got a long way to go before retirement. I'm from a
generation that has a good job today, that wants a
good job tomorrow and hopes to guarantee a good
job 20 years from now."

prepared than I would've been, because I could hear
both sides of everything."
Kyle Macdonald says his predecessor Kristy Sauve
was his inspiration to join the Board. "I was lucky
enough to work in the same office as Kristy - it was
seeing her in meetings with her vast knowledge of
the industry and the respect she had earned with her
commitment to the Board."

These new Directors and the rest of the Board will
continue building on the work of those that came
before them. Retiring Board members - Paul Green,
Dennis Howden, Mark Preston
and Kristy Sauve - along with

TERRITORY AND HELP

Retiring Board members are often
willing to assist their successors.
"I just had lunch with Rick - my
advice was to be as prepared as you
can and communicate with the other
Board members," says Preston.
"The knowledge you gain here, you
couldn't gain any other way."
