As members of the IEEE community, we expect the extraordinary.
It is the benchmark we use when honoring the achievements of those
who have used their education, skills, experience and other resources
to advance technology for the benefit of humanity. It is also the standard by which we measure ourselves as members of the world's most
prestigious association of technical professionals.
These exceptional individuals we honor in 2010 have helped secure a
better tomorrow for us all. Their stories also serve as an inspiration for
succeeding generations to study science, mathematics, engineering
and technology and to pursue careers in these areas.
In honoring the extraordinary, we highlight how these achievements

the top prize winners in the 2nd annual IEEE Presidents' Change the
World Competition. These prizes are presented to students who
embraced the challenge to develop unique solutions to real-world
humanitarian problems using engineering, science, computing and
leadership skills.
