CAS Seasonal School on "Power Management
for Internet of Everything"
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society has supported
some Seasonal Schools in Circuits and Systems (SSCAS)
for the 2016 and 2017 calendar years. The purpose of this
initiative was to target students, early-stage researchers,
and practitioners with backgrounds on the selected topics
of the SSCAS to share their work and collaborate within the
CAS community. In this perspective, a seasonal school on
Power Management for the Internet of Everything" was organized in Lausanne in November 27th and 28th 2017 at the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne. The seasonal school was a successful event in the eyes of the local
student Branch serving as local arrangement committee.
A balanced selection between academia and industry of 11
was attractive to a group of 22 post-graduate students and
design engineers coming from 10 different countries, some
non-registered. Some Ph.D. and master student managed
to attend specific talks on their agenda as the workshop
ran during the semester. This article discusses the environment in which the seasonal school is realized, the steps
to it, some more information on the Panel and poster session and how it benefits the community.
Organizing an IEEE event following the vision to
achieve the scientific goal, offer a networking opportunity to people who would have not in other circumstances
and may open some new collaborations keeping in mind
to advance technology for the society. Finally, make it
socially joyful to the participants. It is a highly challenging task. IEEE student branch at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne found it as a lovely opportunity and took-up the challenge proposed by Professor
Maloberti to organize a seasonal school. The theme of
"Power Management for the Internet of Everything" had
enabled to elaborate a program with competences from
the devices to the cloud. Overall the lecturer was asked
to discuss their activity from the power perspective.
Over the two days of seasonal school, 11 lecturers
were selected to provide their insights at powering the
Internet of Everything.

The balance between academic perspective circuits
and systems was balanced with a few contributions
from industry in the diversity of topics addressed.
The panel session is always an excellent opportunity
to debate openly, the preparation of the panel was such
that it was asked by the speakers to provide a provocative statement. With such a vertical topic it leads to the
various reports. Interestingly as a community back in
