Executive Housekeeping Today - January 2008 - (Page 16) Convention Wrap-up (continued from previous page) with a wonderful performance from Stomp Extreme. Friday morning began with the delightful I.E.H.A. Awards Breakfast and Keynote at the Convention Center, sponsored by the Tennant Company. Representatives from Tennant, including Michael Johnson, Scott Keller, and Kari Lanzendorfer, attended the event in order to show their support for I.E.H.A. Keynote speaker Bob Losyk was very well-received with his humorous motivational speaking seminar on stress in the workplace. “I was so glad I stayed to attend the I.E.H.A. Awards Breakfast,” says Katherine Hansbrough, member of the Maingate Chapter. “It was very well planned. The keynote speaker, Bob Losyk, was great—his presentation was fun, interactive, and informative. It could have gone on forever it was a great seminar!” The Keynote was followed by I.E.H.A. award presentations. The North Louisiana Chapter received the Superior Chapter Achievement Award. The Chapter was awarded due to the fact that they had the most organized and professional meeting minutes, audits, reports, newsletters, education programs, communication to their membership, marketing/recruitment activities, public relations, and teamwork. We would also like to congratulate the second-place recipient, the Maingate Chapter, and the third-place recipient, the Packer Valley Chapter. The Hawaii Chapter received the Spirit Award, due to their excellent membership recruitment plan. We would also like to recognize the runner-up, the Indiana Chapter. All five Chapters that received awards were given a commemorative plaque and certificate, as well as a cash prize for their efforts. Congratulations! At the conclusion of the Awards Breakfast, members were able to enjoy the exhibit floor for a couple Many I.E.H.A. members enjoyed Bob Losyk’s entertaining and humorous keynote address on reducing stress in the workplace, which occurred Friday morning during the I.E.H.A. Awards Breakfast more hours until it officially closed at 1 p.m. We would like to note that because the International Plaza Resort and Spa was undergoing major construction during the time of our Convention, we realize that some of the rooms were less than healthy. However, director of marketing for the International Plaza, Bryan Bruce, offered his sincere apologies during the Business Session and promised to improve the hotel’s housekeeping issues. Thank you to the employees at the International Plaza Resort and Spa for being such outstanding hosts for our event! In closing, we would like to thank all of our sponsors, including Tecni-quip, Wexford Labs, Indoor Environment Solutions, Corporate Express, Tennant Company, Spartan Chemical Company, Smith Research, Superior Health Linens, West Sanitation Services, and Royce Rolls Ringer Company, for helping make our 41st Educational Conference and Convention a huge success!
