In November 2007, the Minnesota Chapter chose to celebrate I.E.H.A.’s Founder’s Day and hold a meeting with the theme, “Learn More About I.E.H.A. and How The Association Can Help You Advance In Your Career.” The Chapter was honored to have our own Association President, J. Darrel Hicks, as their guest speaker. This was the Chapter’s biggest Founder’s Day Program ever, with an attendance of 52 people, including members and guests. The goal for this Founder’s Day was to invite our peers from hospitals, hotels, schools, and nursing homes, in order to come and network and learn more about the Association. The sponsor of the event was Dalco, Inc., a distributor who is also a part of I.E.H.A. They have sponsored the Chapter for over 15 years at Jax’s Cafe, Minneapolis, MN. The North Louisiana Chapter held their October meeting in the Education Building of the Minden Medical Center in Minden, LA. Sarah M. Haynes, Director of Business Development for Minden Medical Center spoke on how their hospital was chosen as one of the “Top 100 Hospitals” by Solicent in 2004, and the criteria that had to be met in order to be included on the prestigious list. Mr. Lynn Dorsey, of the Minden Chamber of Commerce, also spoke and gave an insight on all of the interesting things that are planned for Webster Parish, LA, in the coming months. During the meeting, members and guests also celebrated the 35th anniversary of the chartering of the North Louisiana Chapter. The Chapter also collected food items and Secretary of the Chapter, Bill Jones, ATTENTION MEMBERS! delivered the box to the “Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana” in ShreveEARLY RENEWAL port, LA—a Senior Lagniappe PROGRAM Program, established for seniors 65 and over, The early renewal program including is now underway! Members ones with can renew their membership disability, and have for two to three years at a less than time.
