Executive Housekeeping Today - July 2008 - (Page 21) I.E.H.A.’s 42nd Annual Conference and Convention Call to Convention The 42nd Annual Conference and Convention of the International Executive Housekeepers Association (I.E.H.A.) will be held September 7-11, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, in conjunction with ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America. Registration will be open at the Riviera Hotel on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Convention Center, on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Convention Center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm., and on Thursday at the Convention Center from 9:00 a.m. to noon. I.E.H.A. will kick off their events on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Riviera Hotel, with the Training the Trainer ESL Session (please note that this event was originally scheduled to occur at the Convention Center, but it will now occur at the Riviera). Bussing will be available to get you to the Networking Luncheon at the Convention Center on Monday from noon until 1:30 p.m.; and many informative FSP seminars will be presented on Monday afternoon from 1:45 to 5:15 p.m. at the Convention Center. Monday will also include the I.E.H.A. President’s and New Member Welcome Party at the Riviera Hotel, which will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday, the exhibit hall will open at 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Educational sessions will be held at the Convention Center from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.; and the I.E.H.A. International Member Meeting will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Also t * Please note that some of the event locations have been changed. on Tuesday, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the I.E.H.A. Business Session will be held at the Riviera Hotel for all members. This session will include the installation ceremony of the new I.E.H.A. Board members, as well as a training program discussing the use of the I.E.H.A. Web site. The opening ceremony, which will occur Wednesday morning at the the Barron Room at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, will feature Bill Cosby as the keynote speaker (please note that this event was originally scheduled to occur at the Convention Center, but it will now occur at the Las Vegas Hilton). The exhibit hall will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with educational seminars occurring from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The I.E.H.A. Housekeeping Olympics, presented by the Las Vegas Chapter, will occur Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. This event will be on the trade show floor near the I.E.H.A. booth. The I.E.H.A. REH/CEH review and exam will occur at the Convention Center from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m; and the trade show floor happy hour will occur on this day in the exhibit hall from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday will wrap-up with the I.E.H.A. Evening of Elegance, which will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Riviera Hotel. This is an event you won’t want to miss—it is a semi-formal affair and will be a spectacular function! The Convention will come to a close Thursday, with the exhibit hall being open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Make sure to visit the ISSA kiosk to obtain your CEU certificates for the educational seminars you attend before the exhibit hall closes! The Early Bird registration fee (by August 8, 2008) is $424 for members (includes the Training the Trainer ESL Session); or $325 for those who do not attend the special educational seminar. This fee includes the trade show, all ISSA seminars (except the IICRC and High Performance seminars), the Networking Lunch, a tote bag, a polo shirt, the Welcome Party, Business Session, Evening of Elegance, the keynote address, and other gifts. Members are not required to purchase the complete package in order to attend the Business Session, but will be required to register at a $50 fee in order to check credentials and cover food costs. The Business Session will include: Bylaw Amendments, future planning, new business, the Nominating Committee report, and the announcement of the President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and the six new Directors-at-Large. The voting body will consist of all I.E.H.A. members as verified at the time of registration. A quorum is the majority of those in attendance. Complete registration information is available in EHT, as well as on the I.E.H.A. Web site, at www. ieha.org. All I.E.H.A. members and other industry professionals may attend the Convention.
