Executive Housekeeping Today- August 2008 - (Page 21) 2008 Convention Award Winners Margaret Barnes Diamond Award Edward Vizvarie, R.E.H. This year’s coveted Margaret Barnes Diamond Award winner is Edward Vizvarie, R.E.H. Vizvarie has been a member of I.E.H.A. since 1993; and is the immediate Past President of the Vert Mont Chapter of I.E.H.A., a position he held for four years (2003-2007). The Vert Mont Chapter has been fiscally sound for the past twelve years due to the Baird Classic, a charity golf tournament designed to donate 60 percent of the net profits to the Baird Center for Children and Families, and 40 percent to the Chapter. Vizvarie works for the agency that oversees the Baird Center, and he has been a key factor in the success of the golf tournament. Vizvarie continually encourages the Vert Mont Chapter to reach out and to contribute to others. Beyond the charitable contributions Vizvarie encourages the Chapter to be involved with, he personally participates each year in a program called CUFF Cancer, raising money for that event by agreeing to have his head shaved in downtown Burlington, Vermont. This event started small, but has grown into a significant fundraiser for the Cancer Society. This year, Vizvarie personally raised over $5,000, which was enough to meet his goal of sending three children to camp. Vizvarie is currently employed as the Facilities Manager for The Howard Center for Human Services in Burlington, VA. Congratulations, Ed! I.E.H.A.
