On August 5, 2008, Beth Risinger, CEO/Executive Director; Sarah Larsen, Deputy Director; and Laura DiGiulio, EHT Editor, visited the Kaivac headquarters in Hamilton, OH, to discuss Integrated Cleaning and Measurement (ICM) and strategic planning for the cleaning industry. In May, the Vert Mont Chapter held its 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Over 100 golfers joined Chapter members at the picturesque Basin Harbor Club located on beautiful Lake Champlain in Vermont. The Chapter raised over $15,000 this year, donating $8,500 to charity (www.howardcenter.org), bringing the 13 years total donations to over $85,000. In addition, the Chapter has raised over $60,000 for its education fund. The Chapter’s dedicated members and sponsors have made this event successful year after year. The Vert Mont Chapter is 40 members strong with many members and their families participating in the planning and organizing the full day’s events. Members take this opportunity to stay overnight at the Basin Harbor Club to finalize plans, prepare for the days events, and network with other members. Marie Elaine Trammel passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008. Trammel retired from the Barbary Coast in Las Vegas, NV, as Executive Housekeeper and was a member of the Las Vegas Chapter of I.E.H.A. Shirley Brooks passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Brooks was a Charter member of the Tar Heel Chapter of I.E.H.A., and MAD Secretary. Brooks was an Assistant Director for Environmental Services at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, and most recently Director of Housekeeping at (UNC) Fayetteville State University. Ernest E. Launsby passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the Forest Cove Nursing Center in Jackson, TN. Launsby was a veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, and was employed for many years as an Executive Housekeeper with the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the Kansas City Chapter of I.E.H.A. We extend our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of these I.E.H.A. members. RIP In Memoriam Attention I.E.H.A.
