Executive Housekeeping Today - November 2008 - (Page 2) executive corner During our recent Convention in Las Vegas, several IEHA members asked me why I wanted to be a Director-at-Large, since I have already held the position of Association President in the past. Easy answer: This is such an exciting time for IEHA, with so many fantastic initiatives and a great deal of “out-of-the-box” thinking, I just had to be a part of this new era! Every time I visit the new IEHA Web site, read the virtual EHT magazine, or visit the Housekeeping Channel Web site to read our articles, and then review the strategic plan to see what is on the road ahead of us, I get this wonderful feeling of excitement and accomplishment. I can tell you that I am so thrilled to be a part of this new IEHA! On the last day of the show in Las Vegas, we held our first board meeting as the “new nine.” We discussed our committee assignments, Chapter assignments, and a plethora of other great ideas that we are planning to implement within the next couple of years. Many of you heard in Las Vegas that we are planning to have our Self Study program available online during the first quarter of 2009—just think about that! In addition, we will soon be providing additional information regarding d Welcome to the New Era! the IEHA Social on our new Web site, that will walk each of you through the procedure so that we can share with one another our needs/technical inquiries and tons of other important information on a daily basis. If fact, right now, we have the assistance of Paul Rathey, our IT Guru, to help us get started. The new officers, President Marvin Ellsworth; President Elect, Eric Bates; and Secretary/Treasurer, Sherry Sidwell, have pledged to give the time necessary to sustain, maintain, and continue the momentum of IEHA’s upward surge. The Directors-at-Large, Debra Archbald, Michael Patterson, Tom Jones, Diana Ronning, Janet Wiggins, and myself are already out there talking with our assigned Chapter presidents and assisting with every need. (For a listing of what Chapters we represent, please refer to page 8). All nine of us appreciate the support that you have given us, along with these crucial responsibilities. We are all going to live up to our promise to give back a great deal of ourselves to this Association that has given so much to each of us! We are a family of professionals in the cleaning industry and I am so proud to stand by each of you as an IEHA member.
