Executive Housekeeping Today - March 2009 - (Page 28) What IEHA Has Done For Me “IEHA has put me in touch with leaders dealing with the same Environmental Services issues as myself. I have had the opportunity to meet so many knowledgeable individuals in the profession; answers are just a quick e-mail or phone call away.” -Jane Hanna, CEH Environmental Services Director Columbia Health Care Center Wyocena, WI What has IEHA done for YOU lately? If you would like to contribute to this monthly column, please send your comments to ldigiulio@ieha.org. inside ieha The Hawaii Chapter ended 2008 by participating in two community service projects. First, several members met on November 29, 2008, at the 100th Infantry Battalion Veteran’s Memorial Clubhouse and provided cleaning services. The Chapter participates in this project twice a year in order to help veterans of World War II. Second, Chapter member Brian Benz, President of Team Clean Inc., provided two of Team Clean Inc.’s Chapter members to machine scrub, seal, and finish vinyl floors of a portable classroom at Waipahu High School, where Chapter member Rose Galera is currently teaching Special Education students about housekeeping and sanitation. The results “wowed” the Special Education students and teacher’s aides attending the classes. The Mountain Laurel Chapter held a meeting on December 3, 2008, at the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn in Lewisburg, PA. Chapter President Lynn Embeck was the auctioneer at one of the groups big fundraisers, a Christmas White Elephant Sale. IEHA encourages its local Chapters to work with IEHA’s Webmaster, Paul Rathey, to set up their Chapter Web site. The initial cost for your site is $250 with an annual fee of $50 for maintenance. Paul will handle the HTML basics, the domain name, the page template with proper logos, and all necessary links. In addition, Paul will make some recommendations for various types of content to include in your site’s pages. By having Paul develop each of the Chapter sites, you can be assured that the aesthetics will be excellent and will show continuity and relationship to the overall IEHA site. If you are interested in working with the Association Office and Paul Rathey to assist you with your new Chapter site, please contact Sarah Larsen, Deputy Director at (800) 200-6342, ext. 103. Thanks so much for your consideration of this offer. Beth B. Risinger CEO/Executive Director 28 Executive Housekeeping Today/March 2009
