Cedar Breaks National Monument – Nature at its Best Kids can get the ultimate history lesson in Utah. Check out ancient Bristlecone Pine trees and rock formations that are hundreds of years old. Cedar Breaks National Monument is the historical result of years of uplift, sedimentation, and erosion, which have carved out of the variegated Pink Cliffs (Claron Formation). Check out this natural wonder and the deep canyons of rock walls, ﬁns, spires, and columns. You will be on top of the world as you look over the rim, which is situated 10,000 feet above sea level. This is one of the few places in the world where you will see the ancient Bristlecone Pine. Spring and summer provide great opportunities for hiking. Temperatures can drop quickly at this elevation and warm clothing is advisable year-round. Cross-country skiing and snow shoeing are popular activities at Cedar Breaks.
