Prior to that, from 1997 to 2000, he was the global head of medical technology equity research at UBS. Before that, from 1996 to 1997, he was a research analyst in medical technology at Bear Stearns. Westergaard is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He has trained numerous analysts including the team at Tokum Capital, where he plans to develop a mandate and focus in analytic research over the next decade. He said investors will become more sophisticated in that time and the hedge fund industry will become more institutional-oriented. Westergaard frequently speaks at conferences, including the Goldman Sachs Emerging Manager Conference and the UBS Emerging Manager Conference. In February, he was a featured guest on a panel advising the new South Korean government about global equity market conditions. 19.
