In his new job, he is responsible for extending real estate client relationships in Southeast Asia and for originating various transactions, including high-yield and acquisition financing. He worked at Lehman since February 2005 and had similar responsibilities, originating deals and extending real estate client relationships in Southeast Asia and China. Prior to Lehman, Ling was in equity research at Goldman Sachs from July 2003 to December 2004. He also was responsible for equity research at Salomon Smith Barney from 2001 to 2003. “My family has always been involved in real estate in one form or another,” Ling said.“It was natural for me to be exposed to the fundamentals of real estate from a very young age and for real estate to eventually become my profession.” Ling points to a transaction on which he advised in 2006 - the financing of Grande Asset Development, a hotel and residential development company - as a significant accomplishment.
