It aptly describes exactly how I felt the day I went to my first meeting of the local watercolor society. My good friend, a talented watercolor artist, urged me to go. I was more than a little apprehensive about it since I never fancied myself as a watercolor artist, but I did enjoy using them in my mixed media. You have to learn the basics, my friend wisely counseled me, in order to use the paint to your advantage. More importantly, as a newbie artist I wanted more than anything to join a group of “real artists” and be accepted as one of them. C P S
