You’ll discover the stunning and expanded features of our state-of-the-art facility and learn how we take our plays from script to stage, including the many intriguing steps in between. On the tour, you’ll visit our various production departments, including the shops where costumes, sets and hot STOP props are expertly crafted by talented artisans. Self-guided Audio Tours Narrated by Joe Dowling and familiar Guthrie actors, this fascinating experience will tell you about our theater’s history and the building’s design, highlighting many points of interest. Architectural Tours 75-minutes Architectural tours of the Guthrie focus on the history of the project, the site and its neighborhood and technical information about specific features of the building. Devised by Leslie Van Duzer, associate professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota, these private tours can be scheduled with advance reservation.
