Vo i c e M a s t e rc l a s s Kathleen Hacker Friday, September 19, 7:30 p.m. Soprano Kathleen Hacker has performed as soloist with the orchestras of Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Detroit. As a chamber musician, she has been featured at the Marlboro, Aspen, and Bard music festivals. Hacker is associate professor and chair of the Department of Music at the University of Indianapolis, where she serves as director of vocal studies and enjoys teaching applied voice. P i a n o M a s te rc l a s s Richard Ratliff Friday, October 3, 7:30 p.m. Richard Ratliff is professor of music and director of keyboard studies at the University of Indianapolis, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1980. His UIndy students have come from Athens, Istanbul, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tbilisi and have performed to enthusiastic audiences on four continents. Ratliff’s own performances have taken him to the major halls of New York, London, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. C h a m b e r M u s i c M a s te rc l a s s Dennis McCafferty Saturday, November 1, 1 p.m. An acclaimed recitalist and chamber musician for more than three decades, cellist Dennis McCafferty has performed regularly with the Indianapolis Chamber Players, Suzuki and Friends Chamber Series, and Falkner Chamber Players, and as a founding member of the Linden Quartet and the New Century String Quartet. At the University of Indianapolis, he coaches chamber music and leads the University Orchestra. F l u te M a s te rc l a s s Thomas Robertello Saturday, September 27, 3 p.m. Internationally acclaimed for his musical imagination and virtuosity, Thomas Robertello enjoys a multifaceted career as a soloist with orchestra, recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and teacher. One of the leading flute professors in the world, Robertello is a member of the artist faculty at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. J. Johnson, Slide Hampton, and Buddy Rich, to name a few. A longtime member of the faculty at the University of Louisville, Wheeler regularly presents jazz masterclasses attracting students from the entire region.
