Gerber also commemorates upcoming milestones: the 250th anniversary of the death of George Frideric Handel with one of his harpsichord suites, and the 200th anniversary of the death of Franz Joseph Haydn with his Sonata in A Major, Hob. David and Gompper bring their commitment to new music to Indianapolis, combining their quest for the unusual with readings of modern classics. musician, orchestral player, and teacher. He has been a member of several elite American orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, and the National Symphony in Washington, D.C. He joins UIndy faculty member Hye-Seon Choi for a song recital featuring Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op. 24, and music of Benjamin Britten. Indianapolis Chamber Winds Thursday, October 16, 7:30 p.m. Admission: Free The Indianapolis Chamber Winds, under the direction of UIndy faculty member Darin Sorley, opens its third season of concerts at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center with music of Czech composers, including Dvořák’s Serenade in D minor, Op. 44.
