The renowned Guarneri Quartet “is among the most revered and enduring ensembles of its kind in the world” (National Public Radio) and has circled the globe countless times since it was formed in 1964, playing in the most prestigious halls of North and South America, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The subject of four books and several videos and documentaries, and the recipient of numerous international honors for dozens of acclaimed recordings, the Quartet makes this concert in Indianapolis an important part of its 45th and final season. Chamber music fans won’t want to miss their performances of Haydn’s “Rider” Quartet (Op. 74, No. 3); the Second Quartet, Op. 10, of Zoltán Kodály; and Ravel’s String Quartet. The program also will include Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave) and Bizet’s Symphony in C. The concert will be conducted by Kirk Trevor. Tickets are for reserved seating.
