Ru t h L i l l y P e r fo rm a n ce Ha l l The luminary within the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, the 500-seat Viennese-style hall has been described as “unparalleled in acoustical quality.” Similar in features to the great concert halls of Europe and equal to any performance hall of its size in the country, every detail of the hall, from the density of the seat cushions to the 28-inch-thick walls, maximizes the acoustic performance so that whether five persons or 500 are seated, sound fills the hall as though there is a capacity crowd. O t h e r Fa ci l i t i e s In addition to these venues, you also may find arts and cultural events in the Schwitzer Student Center, a newly remodeled and expanded facility that is home to UIndy’s annual dinner theatre production and the Au Ho-nien Museum. The student center features dining and recreation areas for students, conference facilities, a coffee shop, and the UIndy bookstore. The park-like Smith Mall, located in the heart of campus, also is home to a handful of events each year, arts.uindy.edu paGe thirty-six http://www.uindy.edu/maps/ http://www.uindy.edu http://arts.uindy.edu
