Also, with the pull- down for the BOM structure, you can change from Normal to Purchased, Phantom, Reference, and Inseparable. From the toolbar you can see there are several options that can be configured for your needs. The three tabs do not provide the ability to print the BOM listings. However, by way of a Ctrl-Alt-Print Screen combination, you can copy the active tab to the clipboard and paste it into Paint, MS Word, AutoCAD, or other application, then print the BMP file. You can also export the Structured or Parts Only data and print it out as needed. Assembly parts list Figure 4: Parts Only tab Within the assembly drawing, you can place a parts list—a BOM for the assembly. This can also be manipulated into a format that best suits your company. Rightclick the Parts List and select Edit Parts List. The parts list is similar to the Structure tab on the BOM in the Assembly Model. You can right-click on the parts list to export the data to your format of choice. I usually export the Parts List to an Excel spreadsheet. In the past, I would create the parts list on my assembly drawing, look for areas that need correction, go back to the assembly model and edit the parts as needed to get the parts list accurate. This would sometimes require many steps back and forth to get my parts list the way I wanted it. Figure 5: Parts List only. With the BOM structure pull-down, you can change from Normal, Inseparable, Purchased, Phantom, and Referenced. The toolbar on the top of the window has several selections and options that you can use to configure the Structure tab as needed.
