Augi World - July/August 2008 - (Page 25) Figure 2 Figure 3 Figure 4 Schematic,” I duplicated Plan Low Detail. I duplicated Plan High Detail for the “03 Plan DesignDevel” and “04 Plan ConstructionDocs” Display Representations (see Figure 2). • Expand the Sets folder on the left. Create new Sets by duplicating existing ones (right-click on Set and select Copy then rightclick and select Paste). Again I used the same mapping system outlined in item b above. • Select the 01 Plan Programming set. On the right, find the multi-view block row and check the box under the column 01 Plan Programming. Repeat for the Schematic set, DD and CD Display sets (see Figure 3). • Finally, expand the Configurations folder on left. Create the four phases as configurations using the naming in Table 1. Left-click on each configuration and set the correct Display Representation Set (see Figure 4). Step 2. Decide which objects in the project are well-suited to using multi-view blocks. Examples might include: • Office Project Types • Open office workstations and cubicle arrangements • Furniture arrangements for typical closed offices • Kitchen layouts • Medical Project Types • Lab equipment layouts • Patient room layouts • Correctional Facilities • Inmate cell layouts • Courtroom layouts Step 3. Map out the progression of the block as it relates to the Design Phase. Figure 5 illustrates how the Open Office Workstation multiview block might change as the project moves from one phase to another. Step 4. Draw the objects and convert them into AutoCAD blocks. We’ll use the office workstation example to create seven AutoCAD blocks.
