Leaders from around the world will tell you about the international community’s fantastic worldwide growth, exciting activities and accomplishments, and bold plans for the coming year. Immediately after the meeting, the Technology Main Stage showcases Autodesk strategic partners—including HP, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA—who will demonstrate how their technology strategies and innovations mesh with Autodesk’s to bring you the most advanced design tools on the planet. Annual AUGI Beer Bust Wednesday, December 3 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Hall B, Level 2 After the AUGI Meeting, join us on the Exhibit Hall floor and network with your peers over pizza and refreshments at the AUGI Beer Bust. It’s a perennial favorite, open to all attendees. Pecha Kucha Night Wednesday, December 3 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Palazzo L, Level 5 Pecha Kucha brings together a diverse group of creative thinkers to share their ideas in a unique presentation format: they display 20 images, each for 20 seconds. In those six minutes and 40 seconds, presenters are expected to make a personal connection with their audience. A big success last year, Pecha Kucha Night returns stronger than ever. Get ready for a nonstop, high-energy visual conversation on a wide range of compelling design topics. Exhibit Hall Opening Reception Tuesday, December 2 7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. Hall B, Level 2 Join thousands of your fellow attendees from around the globe as AU 2008 opens the Exhibit Hall in grand style. Tonight’s theme is International Community, so come enjoy a variety of geo-specific cuisine, drink, music, and more! New! AU Design Slam by Cut&Paste Preliminary Rounds Wednesday, December 3 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Palazzo D, Level 5 Final Rounds Thursday, December 4 During AU Party Hall A, Level 2 New this year is the AU Design Slam—A Real-Time Design Competition, presented by Cut&Paste and sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. Not for the faint of heart, this live-action on-stage challenge tests our contestants’ skill and speed in separate Architecture and Industrial Design competitions. Using the latest Autodesk 3D software, competitors create their work in a series of short, fast-paced rounds in front of a live audience. Preliminary rounds are scheduled for Wednesday, December 3. The final rounds take place on Thursday, December 4, during the AU Party. Annual AUGI Meeting Wednesday, December 3 5:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Hall A, Level 2 Wednesday is AUGI Day at AU 2008. Wear your AUGI gear and join AUGI members at the 17th annual Autodesk User Group International meeting to learn how local AUGI programs and user groups can help boost your technical productivity and advance your career.
