Jefferson City Visitor Guide - (Page 11) Interesting, hands-on exhibits line the walls of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation Museum. Missouri Supreme Court Building 207 West High Street (573) 751-4144 | www.courts.mo.gov The Supreme Court is the state's highest court. Many of the days' most important and often controversial legal issues affecting Missourians and involving the state's Constitution and laws come before this court. The Supreme Court, by the state Constitution, supervises courts in Missouri. It also prescribes the procedures and practices followed by judges and lawyers in trying cases in the state's courts. The Supreme Court Building in Jefferson City became a permanent home for the Court at its completion in 1907 using funds from the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. Look for the glass floors in the library. The building did not have electricity when it was built, but the glass floors allowed light from the windows to filter down to the main floor. Tours of the Supreme Court are given Monday through Friday on the half hour from 9 11:30 a.m. & 1 - 3:30 p.m. Free Admission.
