GUILIN DISCOVERY 4 days/3 nights Land Only DAY 1 ARRIVE GUILIN On arrival into Guilin airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight: Choice of hotel for 3 nights. DAY 2: RICE TERRACES After breakfast at your hotel, travel by road for about 2 hours to see the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces of Longsheng County. Longsheng is also the gathering land for minority cultures. You may also come across the local custom of long hair combing. (B,L) DAY 3: LI RIVER CRUISE & YANGSHUO A full day today to cruise the Li River, which takes 4-5 hours and covers the most picturesque parts of the river. Later, visit Yangshuo, more than 1,000 years old, for good shopping and bargaining. (B,L) DAY 4: DEPART GUILIN Spend the day exploring the sights of Guilin. This includes Elephant Trunk Hill, named after its natural formation, Reed Flute Cave, the most famous of its kind in the country, the solitary Fubo Hill for panoramic view of the whole city and Seven Star Park. You will then be transferred to the airport for your onward flight (flight not included). (B,L) XI’AN DISCOVERY 3 days/2 nights Land Only DAY 1: ARRIVE XI’AN On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to explore Xi’an. Overnight: Choice of hotel for 2 nights. DAY 2: GREAT MOSQUE & TERRA COTTA WARRIORS/TANG DYNASTY SHOW See the Great Mosque, one of the four most important mosques in the country and the ancient City Wall, the best preserved of its kind in China. The highlight is your visit to see the lifesize 6000-strong Terra Cotta Army that has been standing guard of the first emperor of China for over 2,000 years. Tonight, enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. (B,L,D) DAY 3: WILD GOOSE PAGODA/MUSEUM & DEPART XI’AN In the morning visit the Provincial Museum which houses a fine collection largely devoted to the history of the ancient Silk Road and the Wild Goose Pagoda. This was initially built in the 7th century to house Buddhist scriptures brought back from India. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight (flight not included). (B,L) CNTO HANGZHOU DISCOVERY 3 days/2 nights Land Only DAY 1 ARRIVE HANGZHOU On arrival into Hangzhou, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight: Choice of hotel for 2 nights. DAY 2: HANGZHOU Cruise on the West Lake, depicted by numerous poets and artists in their works. Stop at a famous scenic spot “Three Pools Reflecting the Moon.” A tea connoisseur will then accompany you to the Dragon Well Tea Plantation where the tea is well known for its greenness, fragrance and mellow taste. Afterwards walk to Diamond Hill and explore the Yellow Dragon Cave. Finally visit the Huqingyutang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum which is under protection as a key national cultural relic before enjoying a local flavor dinner and exploration of the Hefang Street Market. (B,L,D) DAY 3: DEPART HANGZHOU Visit the Six Harmonies Pagoda, initially founded in the Northern Song Dynasty (960 – 1127 AD). Afterwards see the Soul’s Retreat Temple, which is tucked away in a secluded valley and ranks among China’s most celebrated Buddhist temples. Transfer either to the train station or airport for departure (flight or train not included).
