The venue changes annually but is always held in the prairie of the Flint Hills—a setting that promises to be out of sight and sound of anything but heaven and earth (www.symphonyintheflinthills.org). The pinnacle of the day is a performance by the Kansas City Symphony. Prior to the concert, guests can walk or take horsedrawn-wagon rides across the prairie to the concert site, which is tucked away in a natural amphitheater. Come early, before the evening concert begins, for bird-watching, wildflower walks and guided prairie education tours, as well as a cowhand program and more. & DO http://www.symphonyintheflinthills.org
