Kansas Driving Information I-70 crosses the state from east to west, and I-35 angles southwest from Kansas City past Wichita. The speed limit on interstates is 70 mph/112 kph. The speed limit on other highways is 65 mph/104 kph unless otherwise posted. Buckle your seatbelts and secure children under age 4 in approved safety seats.
