Kitchen + Bath Business is pleased to announce
that Erinn Waldo has joined the editorial staff as
managing editor. During her two-and-a-half year
tenure with Emerald Expositions, she has been the
online editor for K+BB, as well as sister publications
Hospitality Design and Contract magazines.
"K+BB has many exciting projects planned for
the coming year in which Erinn will be a welcome
and pivotal participant," said Executive Editor Chelsie Butler. "We are excited to bring her on in time to be a part of the KBIS
2015 and Design & Construction Week events in January in Las Vegas."
The International Contemporary Furniture Fair has entered into a longterm cooperation agreement with Fiera Milano, host of events for the
interior design and lifestyle marketplaces, to introduce HO.MI. New York,
a "lifestyle trade fair," at ICFF 2015. More than 120 Italian designers and
brands that exhibit at the bi-annual HO.MI. Milano lifestyle exhibition held
at Fiera Milano in January and August will travel to New York to take part
in the HO.MI. New York pavilion at ICFF 2015. The HO.MI. New York lifestyle
exhibition will be a major new feature at the 27th edition of ICFF, held May
16-19, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.
Stone & Pewter Accents, manufacturer of stone and pewter tile, has
rebranded as Lunada Bay Tile. The new brand name, taken from Lunada
Bay in California, reﬂects the company's design philosophy of blending
traditional craftsmanship with modern inﬂuences.
Kohler Co. and Benjamin Moore have partnered to create Collaboration in Full Color
Volume 2. This is the second installment from
Kohler Co. and Benjamin Moore, each including a kitchen and a bathroom with the complete details on products and ﬁnishes used.
The three styles, inspired by California life,
include Natural Slate, a seaside home that
offers a calming reprieve with sandbar colored ﬁxtures and a ﬂuid style. Soft Focus recalls
a 1920s foothill manor, while Desert Departure's mid-century modernity escapes the heat with a blue, white and
gray palette interspersed with glass accents.
3M's selection of architectural surface materials will now be included
in resource library Material ConneXion, a global resource for material
solutions. A team of the program's industry experts selected the company's DINOC Architectural, Dichroic Glass, FASARA Glass and Crystal Glass
ﬁnishes for inclusion in the Spotlight Panel program.
The American Standard SaTo hygienic toilet pan,
created as a safe sanitation solution for developing countries, is a winner in R&D Magazine's 52ndAnnual R&D 100 Awards. Initially designed for
use in Bangladesh, the SaTo uses simple mechanical and water seals to close off pit latrines from the open air.
LAUFEN has opened its ﬁrst U.S.
showroom and new North American
headquarters, which will be based
in Miami. Located at the artist and
design gallery known as Miami Ironside, LAUFEN's showroom contains
the ﬁrst North American presentation
of the SaphirKeramik prototypes,
which were crafted by industrial designers Konstantin Grcic and Toan
Nguyen. A lighting and design installation, created by Swiss designer and
artist Tom Strala, is also on display.
Duravit is making a progressive move with its new Stock Furniture program. Allowing for faster delivery in one easy order, this service-friendly
approach makes close to 200 units of top furniture models available
from stock. Collections include: Darling New, Delos, DuraStyle, Fogo, Happy D.2, Ketho, Starck and X-Large. The company selected products that
would offer a comprehensive range of options ideal for creating spa-like
Bazzèo by NYLOFT has started work
on several multi-unit projects in New
York, including the kitchen, bath and
lobby area for the NORFOLK project
- a 38-unit residential complex located in the Lower East Side. ODA Architecture created a contemporary,
light-ﬁlled glass structure, which is
complimented with the all-modern approach of Bazzèo for kitchen, bath
and lobby interiors. The minimalistic, clean lines of the NORFOLK kitchens
and baths feature Bazzèo high-gloss lacquer cabinets for the kitchen area
and warm wood veneer for the bathrooms.
Australia's Bubbles Bathrooms was
the recent winner of three HIA Victorian Housing Kitchen & Bathroom awards for Best Bathroom of
the Year, Best Bathroom Design and
Bathroom over $50,000. The winning
project won for its selection of materials and design, which includes a
freestanding bath and feature wall that balance the room and create the
focal point in the space.
Cambria has opened its newly remodeled Cambria Gallery on El
Paseo in Palm Desert, Calif. With a
selection of displays, fabrication
techniques and full 4.5-ft. by 10-ft.
slabs, the gallery showcases 122
Cambria designs. Local architect,
Kristi Hanson, Inc., local general
contractor, Lathrop Development & Construction, Inc., and several
other local contractors built and designed the 2,061-sq.-ft. space.
