BATHROOM OF THE FUTURE DEBUTS AT KBIS
Hot on the heels of the FutureHAUS Kitchen that debuted last year, the Virginia Tech Center
for Design Research is revisiting KBIS to introduce its Virginia Tech FutureHAUS™ Bathroom, which will propose new ways to build to better accommodate innovative technologies
and materials.
The bathroom will address the following categories:
Smart Living
Accommodation for universal design. Monitors
hot water, energy and resource use and integrates
innovative interface for many bathroom operations.
Smart Technology
Cutting-edge fixtures, cabinetry, accessories
and lighting provide innovative, comfortable and
user-friendly bathroom experiences.
Smart Surfaces
Innovative bathroom materials, surfaces and
finishes provide a beautiful, easy-to-clean, sanitary
and safe bathroom environment.
The FutureHAUS research project explores a new and efficient approach to the construction
of buildings. Its goal is to propose fully-employed, industrialized processes for the making
of high-density, responsive dwellings.
