THE MAIN DESTINATION
With a baby on the way, it was even more important that the homeowners have a peaceful space
to call their own. Although the master bath does
not refer to a specific city, it echoes the home's
Spanish architecture and the homeowner's desire
for a modern design.
"We wanted this bathroom to be clean and refined with a pop of intrigue," said Wollack. "This
is the master bath, so we wanted to make sure it
was tranquil and relaxing."
She designed the room around the custom steel
shower doors, which have a classic French-door
style. The chic doors inspire a tonal, black-andwhite design across the rest of the bathroom.
Black-lined subway tile on the walls and a floral
Mediterranean-style tile on the floor emphasize
this palette.
"The patterned tile is definitely a highlight of
the bathroom, so we wanted to take advantage of
it and show how it can really elevate any space,"
said Wollack, adding that the vintage glass chandelier near the bathtub contributes to the sense
of openness.
With all the complex tile on the floor and walls,
the vanity needed to have a simple, warmer design.
She chose dark wood cabinetry with flat panels
and a marble countertop, while brass faucets with
an antique shape complete the bath's character.
"I loved seeing this project from start to finish,"
said Wollack. "Once we saw the final product, we
were thrilled."
