KITCHEN FIX A dated, dismal space brightens up to a more functional design with some retro elements By Chelsie Butler A BUSY COUPLE WITH A BABY IN WEST LOS ANGELES - an area abundant with Spanishstyle bungalows - were in desperate need of a kitchen renovation in a house they knew may not be their forever home. The previous layout lacked countertop and storage space, the linoleum flooring demanded a major overhaul, and the dreary space needed brightening. "They had lived with that kitchen for five years, but they still wondered if there was a way to make it look okay with only minor revisions," said designer Jessica McClendon, founder of LA-based Glamour Nest.
